Itinerary

Day 1 (Friday)

Fly to Manaus, Brazil (Eduardo Gomez International Airport).  Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our staff and accompanied to the hotel (Tropical Hotel or Park Suites).  Subsequently, as time permits, you may wish to take a city tour of Manaus, visit the Amazon Opera House, shop in the open-air market, visit the zoo, walk along the beach, or participate in other local events.

Day 2 (Saturday)

After your complimentary breakfast, your group gathers in the hotel lobby and then transports to a small local airport (Eduardinho), where you catch a charter flight to Barcelos (or other fishing destination) where the yacht awaits you.  Upon arrival, you will transport to the yacht and meet your guides and crew.  The voyage begins.  You may wish to fish a 1/2 day during the afternoon or simply relax and enjoy the cruise on the Rio Negro.

Days 3-8 (Sunday-Friday)

Fish, fish, fish, and fish some more.  Enjoy the fishing, food, and accommodations aboard the Amazon Santana.

Our guides will help you find and catch trophy peacock bass in the secret lagoons and tributaries of the Amazon.  As you fish, you will enjoy the use of Suzuki 50 hp (17 1/2 ft.) bass boats.  There is one guide for every two anglers.  The bass boats have a large stabilizing platform on the front to optimize for balance and technique while you are fishing.  Also, each boat has a VHF marine radio, which can be used to communicate with the mother ship if needed.  Likewise, each boat has life jackets and a cooler of food and drinks.  You may wish to eat lunch on the bass boat - or just travel back to the mother yacht.

Fishing is not your only option.  Our guides were born and raised in the Amazon and have a wealth of knowledge about the local villages, agriculture, and rainforest.  You may wish to ask your guide to take you on an eco-tour, village tour, or jungle trek.  Many guests also like to go bird watching, alligator spotting, or animal observing.  Each day, the choice is yours.

Day 9 (Saturday)

Take a mid-day charter flight back to Manaus.  Upon arrival, you will be transported to Eduardo Gomez International Airport so you can fly back home (leave no sooner than 2:30 pm).  If you stay extra days in Brazil, please make arrangement prior to your fishing trip.  Note: changes to this itinerary may occur.
